Clonmacnoise B&B, hotel in Ballinasloe

Clonmacnoise B&B offers accommodations in Clonmacnoise, 13 miles from Athlone Topwn Shopping Centre and 13 miles from Athlone Train Station.

Joe and Jackie were amazing hosts! They let us borrow two umbrellas and gave us a charger we were missing for my daughter’s headphones. They also helped make dinner reservations at Fallons Bar in nearby Shannonbridge and then confirmed a band playing in the Killen’s Pub next door to that so we got an authentic Irish experience! We stayed here because it’s halfway between the Cliffs of Moher and Dublin. We did Dublin one day and the Cliffs another. Worked perfect for us. And we even visited Clonmacnoise that is right next door which was great. Also, the breakfast was great and they were VERY flexible on what time to have breakfast ready for us which was perfect. Highly recommended!

Cosy apartment with fire stove, hotel in Ballinasloe

Cosy apartment with fire stove offers accommodations in Athlone, 8.9 miles from Athlone Golf Club and 9.1 miles from Athlone Institute of Technology.

We stayed over the Christmas holidays 2023/24. I could not recommend this property more. The location is just a few kilometers from Athlone, which is in the center of Ireland. This made it ideal for us as we were looking to visit areas all over the island. The apartment is quaint and comfortable on a very quiet country lane. But most of all, our hosts were absolutely the best. We will be visiting in Ireland again, and we plan to stay here again.

The breakfast provided was so fresh and delicious. The bread, eggs, tomatoes, orange juice and pressed coffee made for a luxurious morning! The hut was incredibly well built, the shower water was hot and plentiful, every detail was thought of in the kitchen for amenities. The king sized bed was super comfortable with plenty of pillows and cozy bedding. The chickens and ducks outside the hut made for a very pleasant atmosphere. The seating outside with farm views and magical fairy garden made the stay so wonderful. The host was gracious. She met us to introduce to the details of usage and then checked in with us briefly to make sure all was well. Her contact felt like "just the right amount".

    Loved Ballinasloe. Perfect little town.

Loved Ballinasloe. Perfect little town. My Mother's family lived nearby years ago and descendants still in area. For us perfect and lucky with the weather too. Gullanes hotel the very best to get the most of hospitality in the area and hear those amazing local people in town. It is also central.Would recommend to anyone looking for traditional Irish hospitality and welcome.

Ballinasloe in itself is a small town, it took us an afternoon to walk around, visit the different shops, the marina and the three churches. It's very pleasant and the locals are friendly. On the Friday we left there was a indoor market by the cinema selling handmade items from buns to marmalade to baby gifts. Ballinasloe is 30 mins from Athlone and 45 mins from Galway by train, handy spot!

Hotel Was very central to the town and shops. Not a lot do at night. We spent most of the next day in Galway Salthill and Barna, as the evening event I was meant to attend on the Sunday was cancelled. Restaurant in the hotel was very good and very accommodating too.

No tourist town but a working village.

No tourist town but a working village. Access to the rivers for fishing, lots of good restaurants and pubs, hardly any tourists. Watch out for October unless you wish to see the biggest and oldest horse fair in Europe. Centrally located beside the M6. It is a 35 minute bus ride to Galway and 2 hours to Dublin Airport. The Galway bus is a great way to see the countryside and visit Galway without driving yourself.

Ballinasloe is a wonderful place full of tradition and amazing people. The very first person we met worked in Salmons and they greeted us with a smile and a “welcome to Ballinasloe” ! The town has kept its character and it looks like they’re making improvements in the town centre with a load of road works going on. Plenty to see and do too.. love the place 👍🏻

Lovely, super likeable Irish couple, they make you feel like you are at home, they offered me sandwiches and tea just after arriving and I had a meeting next day a bit far so they went far far ahead of what was expected in a hotel to indicate me best way to get there. breakfast was delicious and I highly recommend anyone to stay with them, they enjoy having clients with them, cant recommend enough my stay, i also owe them an email to enjoy Barcelona next November, my hometown :)

This is an amazing place. We stayed here en route to Dublin. it is a great family run hotel. We met the owner at dinner. The food is great, craic very homely. Having stayed in loads of places across Ireland I would have to say this is the best! Our friends told us Ballinasloe was crap...what rubbish. Wonderful dinner choice and freshly cooked breakfast. Stay here! Free parking. Old style classic Irish town hotel, So good! We will be back here. Well done all of you. Michael.

Fabulous hotel, lovely staff who were all very friendly and welcoming. The food at this hotel is excellent, we ate in the hotel both evenings and the breakfast was superb. Our room was spacious and very clean with plenty of extra pillows should you need them. Tea and coffee in the room along with an iron and ironing board which is an excellent added bonus.

Full marks for this one. I had never been before but would highly recommend. A spacious modern clean hotel with a very customer friendly culture. Staff in the restaurant were amazing and serving everybody although they were really enjoying it and couldn't do enough for you. And the cod and chips was incredible. Would certainly be back.

Very nice hotel. Receptionist or manager greeted us with professional service. Perfect location but could do with a transport service from the station. Also the door would not lock so we had to vacate to another room without a bath. Other than that we had a great time.
